Next month, Breyer Renew will be starting a programme of works to improve the energy efficiency of Golding Homes properties in Maidstone, Kent.

We’ll be working on homes that currently have an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) D rating to ensure they meet C or above going forward. Home surveys will start next month to identify what needs to be done to bring homes up to standard, save energy and reduce customers’ bills. The improvement measures will include: low energy lights, loft insulation top ups, cavity wall insulation, glazing improvements/replacements and hot water cylinder insulation.

The works will result in residents benefitting from:

  • Lower emissions and energy costs
  • Warmer, more comfortable homes that are healthier to live in
  • Helping with the Government’s target of Net Carbon Zero by 2050

This project follows Golding Homes’ earlier successful solar panel project across 11 bungalows, which is currently being monitored for reductions to customers’ bills and is expected to lead to a programme of further solar panel installations on existing homes.

Steven Finch, Breyer’s Operation Manager on the job, comments:

“We’re really pleased to be working with Golding Homes on this programme of works. It is so important that we improve the energy efficiency of our homes in the UK; for the sake of people and our planet. Projects like this will lower costs and raise living standards for residents, as well as contribute to the protection of our environment in the long run.”
