We’re upgrading customers’ homes in Essex and London to be warmer and more energy efficient as part of Moat Homes’ £6 million improvement plan.
Working with United Living, we’ll be carrying out energy efficiency upgrades to 103 customers’ homes in London and 386 in Essex. In light of rising energy costs, this project will have a hugely positive impact on Moat Homes’ customers, helping them to keep energy usage and costs down, making their homes warmer and draughtproof, as well as reducing carbon emissions.
The £6 million funding the works has come from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund – a government-funded initiative that aims to support social housing providers to improve energy performance. Works will include upgrading windows and doors, installing insulation, and in some cases installing PV solar panels. All of the improvements will have a positive impact on customers’ energy costs, which is particularly important during the cost-of-living crisis and bill price hikes.
Head of Strategic Asset Management, Joanne Hiscock: “This project will deliver big changes to our customers’ homes and will have a huge impact on the warmth of the homes, making them more affordable to heat and more comfortable to live in.”
Stephen Finch, Operations Manager, Breyer Renew: “These decarbonisation works are so important. We will be using our expertise to ensure that customers’ homes provide a warmer, healthier space to live in, while also leaving a lower carbon footprint, and we’re looking forward to working with Moat to deliver this.”
