Breyer’s Social Value team is busy staging job fairs across London and the South with a view to helping people find new roles and to securing new talent for our growing number of contracts. The Social Value team has been using these job fairs to soft launch their new ‘Skills Scan’, which looks to identify transferrable skills and potential ability within individuals seeking jobs in the property services industry.
Head of Communities and Social Value, Liz Obertelli explains:
“Creating a CV is often a barrier to people who would otherwise be perfectly suited to a job in the property services industry. This means that we’re missing out on strong candidates for jobs that we’re looking to fill, while potential candidates are equally missing out on the possibility of a fruitful career path.
“Our ‘Skills Scan’ essentially creates a framework from which we can determine an individual’s existing or transferrable skills and natural abilities that might lend them to a certain job within Breyer. If we identify a strong candidate for a role that we’re trying to fill that hasn’t quite got the right training, our HR team is able to design an individual learner plan and provide a work placement that will appropriately upskill them.”
Over the past two weeks alone, Breyer’s Social Value team has hosted successful job fairs using their ‘Skills Scan’ in Leytonstone and the Lord’s Cricket Ground. These have resulted in a number of potential candidates being identified for Breyer job vacancies, as well as 10 people being signed up for the career-focused ‘Visionary’ courses, which are run in conjunction with Quantum Vantage and Breyer Foundation.
Our next job fairs will be taking place as follows:
– 14th November – 8am to 3pm – LB Kensington & Chelsea Jobs Fair at Kensington/Chelsea Town Hall
– 30th November – 8am to 3pm – Bi Borough Construction Jobs Fair (Westminster & Kensington & Chelsea) at Westbourne Park Baptist Church
