This competition was organized by Affinity Sutton and Breyer Group. The aim was to encourage children to consider the built environment whilst understanding the skills and aptitudes of young Affinity Sutton residents who potentially will become our next generation of operatives.
Children aged between 7yrs and 11yrs from Bromley were asked to visualize Affinity Sutton Group’s strapline “Helping People Put Down Roots.”
The competition attracted the attention of many young residents and those whose pictures were shortlisted for the finals are on display at Churchill Library gallery between 11th and 25th November 2015.
Benita Tooke, Art Coordinator at St. Paul’s Cray CE Primary School, explained that pupils from her class come from a variety of different backgrounds. When her students were asked to create imaginary landscapes illustrating where they would ‘put down roots’, they used a range of images and shapes to represent their families and their environment.
Anisa R, aged 7yrs won the competition and received two tickets for the Hetty Feather Travelling Show at Bromley's Churchill Theatre along with a £30 Intu gift card, which she put towards a chemistry set.
All short-listed finalists were rewarded with similar-value gift cards in recognition of their efforts and being shortlisted.
All prizes were kindly sponsored by Breyer Group’s supply chain which includes:
