“Lewisham Homes is an Arm’s Length Management Organisation (ALMO) that took over the management of some of Lewisham Council’s homes in January 2007. Breyer Group has been on site since July 2011 and we are now making a real difference to people’s lives, installing new kitchens, bathrooms and central heating, as well as ensuring properties are in good repair inside and out.
Resident satisfaction for the work carried out to date is rated at 90%.
Breyer continues to work with our community involvement team to deliver a programme of initiatives which directly benefit our residents. The programme covers apprenticeships, back to work initiatives, improvements to community facilities, DIY training, and youth activities.
We are very proud that the community investment programme has been so successful and we are grateful for the dedication and commitment shown by the team at Breyer in helping us support our residents”.
“Islington Council has been working with Breyer Group plc. Since 2012. During this time they have strived to engage and support our local community in a variety of methods offering a positive impact to individuals and community groups. From offering sponsorships to community projects/events, such as sponsoring our Christmas extravaganza at our Nags Head town centre for the last 3 years, which attracted more than 2000 residents throughout the day.
To staff members volunteering their time at our work clubs delivering one-to-one mentoring to unemployed residents to support them back into employment. As well as offering employment and training opportunities, by recruiting a number of apprenticeships from the local community. More recently Breyer has pledged to support Islington's mission to help our residents with learning disabilities gain and sustain employment and have created/carved an employment opportunity that is currently being recruited to.”
“Breyer Group and Lambeth Living’s Employability Team have worked productively together to prepare young inexperienced and long term unemployed people for sustainable employment within their organisation. This has included pre-employment support with their CV’s, application forms & mentoring. They have also supported our residents back into employment by understanding some of the barriers our residents may face (this includes not being job ready, child care and so forth). Since the LHS framework started, Breyer Group has provided nine apprenticeships in Business Administration, Customer Care & Quantity Surveyor Apprentices – which is over and above their contractual obligations. In addition to the above, Breyer Group recently employed 3 graduates as Trainees. Again this over and above their commitments under the LHS Framework Agreement. Breyer Group also pay London Living Wage and have just been brilliant doing business with”
“Breyer Group is currently working with Tower Hamlets Homes on our Decent Homes programme. Part of the contractor’s tender submission was its corporate social responsibility proposal.
Breyer Group strives to fulfil their community commitment obligations and to make positive changes within the local area.
Breyer Group's award-winning apprenticeship & work-experience programme provides our residents with valuable experience which will help them find permanent employment in the future. They have also committed to paying London Living Wage.
Breyer’s Community Investment Manager actively promotes various opportunities in the local area and has an excellent relationship with representatives from the local community and Tenants and Residents Associations. They continue to maintain a positive site presence and are always keen to support planned projects whilst having a proactive approach to community engagement.
