Description of Works: Breyer Group are currently undertaking Direct Fix External Wall Insulation works to 19 occupied residential blocks on the Avebury Estate, London, E2.
The Rockwall System we are using is REDArt Silicone 15/5207. This system involves sticking then mechanically fixing Rockwall insulation bats to the external walls. The next part of the operation is to apply a 3 coat render system to the bats using mesh in-between coats to prevent cracking. The final coat of render is a coloured coat that can be mixed to a vast range of colours and applied with a number of different finishes ranging from very smooth to stippled.
The Planning Department in Tower Hamlets decided that Eversley House and Rapley House should not have brick slips fitted to the ground floor so were rendered to the bottom of the block.
The remaining 17 blocks are to have individual brick slips fitted from the REDArt Brick Effect system.
Works also include:-
and some aluminium
Current: We are currently completing EWI at 14 blocks on the Avebury Estate which is taking on average 15 weeks per block from scaffold erection to the completion of installation of the brick slips.
Forthcoming: We have 3 blocks still to commence which are awaiting the erection of scaffolding
