    Breyer Group provides extended work experience to Prince Annor from All Saints Catholic School

    Breyer Group strengthens relationship with All Saints School, Barking and Dagenham via Barking & Dagenham’s Trident Programme.


According to a recent survey published in the Telegraph “two-thirds of employers are more likely to hire a young person with work experience over someone with none and 80 per cent of employers think work experience is essential. (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sponsored/finance/your-bank/11232030/benefits-work-experience.html).

With this in mind Breyer Group has developed a range of tailored work experience programmes that provide candidates with: -

  • An insight into the working environment within a Construction company
  • Awareness of the numerous careers available within Breyer Group/industry
  • A better understanding of their chosen career (or in some instances it helps young people refine their career choices
  • An appreciation of what they learn at school or college and its applicability and relevance
  • Improved skills, knowledge and confidence

From an employer’s perspective work experience provides an invaluable insight into a potential employee and at Breyer Group many placements have turned into sustainable paid employment.

Prince Annor, 14 years old, is currently completing his GSCE examinations at All Saints Catholic School, where he is studying Computer Science, Triple Award Science and Geography.

He completed his two week placement shadowing and supporting members of staff from various divisions within the business. This has enabled him to develop his soft skills such as team working, communication skills and commercial awareness, all of which are highly sought after by employers.
