Breyer Group has announced its certification as a B Corporation, joining a growing group of companies reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit. We have been certified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, as having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit.
Our B Corp certification addressed the entirety of our operations, covering five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. The certification process was rigorous, with a requirement to reach a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. To complete the certification, we have legally embeded our commitment to purpose beyond profit in our company articles.
Breyer Group is now part of a community of 4,400 businesses globally in 77 countries and 150 industries who have certified as B Corps. The B Corp community in the UK, representing a broad cross section of industries and sizes, comprises over 600 companies and includes well-known brands such as The Guardian, innocent, Jamie Oliver and Body Shop .
“Recent times have seen such disruption and uncertainty for everyone, so it’s with enormous pleasure and pride that we start 2022 with such great news concerning our B Corp accreditation. I’d like to thank all our team for their hard work in making B Corporation approval a reality. We will do our utmost to deliver the B Corp “force for good” message within all our future operations….”
