Breyer Group was originally founded as an asphalt roofing contractor by Fred Breyer in 1956 and our construction company is still family owned today and is currently managed by Tim Breyer.
With our family values still firmly in place we always put people at the heart of everything we do. It is our intention to consistently provide our residents with a positive experience when making repairs to their homes, and to actively contribute to improving the fabric of the local communities in which they live.
This includes delivering life changing initiatives such as our antisocial behaviour schemes to reduce crime and vandalism and, through our employment and skills plans, our award winning apprenticeship scheme which, since its inception, has delivered over 100 apprenticeships.
Whether it’s a regeneration project, a long-term programme or a multimillion pound partnering framework, we will always tailor our approach to suit the residents and the local community.
With over 400 employees and over 60 years’ experience specialising in roofing, construction, responsive repairs and maintenance, we are extremely proud to be one of the industry’s leading principle contractors, operating from our headquarters in Romford, Essex and our network of locally based offices. Our ISO 9001:2008 certified quality management system reinforces our focus on excellent levels of customer service and satisfaction.
Breyer Group's mission statement, which outlines our medium and longer term objectives, specifically targets growth and in securing an increased proportion of our turnover from partnering work with our clients for the following reasons:
Our business plan details the following strategic objectives for the group:
Our core services currently include roofing, construction, responsive repairs and renew, backed up by our first-class customer service and high-value investment in our local communities.
Our roofing division covers all major roofing systems. We are able to act as a principal or a subcontractor on projects of any size and complexity on a nationwide basis.
Our construction division provides high-quality internal and external refurbishment within the housing, education, healthcare and commercial sectors. We are experts in delivering ‘Decent Homes’ programmes, and planned and cyclical maintenance across London and the south-east.
Our responsive repairs and maintenance division uses a talented workforce of specialist and multi-disciplined tradesmen and women who are not just technically skilled but trained to minimise disruption whilst carrying out repairs to your homes whatever the task.
Our Renew division specialises in the areas of funding, design, supply, installation, operation, maintenance and monitoring of energy efficiency works.
In addition to our cutting-edge approach to construction, specialist roofing and responsive repairs, we pride ourselves on our ability to offer the highest level of customer service and community investment.
In order to keep our residents at the centre of everything we do, we have a first-class resident engagement team to increase our understanding of your needs and priorities.
This team is complemented by our community investment team which is here to identify the needs and priorities of the wider community. We actively seek to address any community issues through the creation of employment and training initiatives and social-value programmes that can genuinely help to improve the fabric of the neighbourhoods in which you live.
Health, safety and environmental matters are of paramount importance in everything the company does. We have a dedicated health, safety & environmental team that have ensured our management systems OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 have been accredited by UKAS.
Our health, safety and environmental team carry out thorough site inspections on a fortnightly rotation to ensure all company projects are fully compliant with current legislation and industry guidance. Once the electronic inspections are complete the site management team are immediately provided with its results.
Health, safety and environmental performance targets are set annually and reporting of that company performance takes place monthly with results reported directly to the board.

Our work involves a wide range of technical skills. It takes us into many different environments. We also handle a range of materials, operate various kinds of machinery and strive to minimise our impacts on the environment.
This means we need to be safe and secure in everything we do, well trained and highly skilled, and focused on improving our knowledge and practices continually.
Achieving accreditation is an important way for us to drive our professional standards. Accreditations give our customers, our partners, our employees and the communities we work in, confidence that we’ll do our jobs to industry leading standards.
