Health & Safety

Health & Safety is of paramount importance in everything we do. We have a four-strong Health & Safety Management team, and our systems are fully certificated under Quality Assurance, Environmental and Health & Safety Standards ISO 9001:2008, 14001:2004 and 18001:2007.

Our H&S team inspect all projects on a regular basis together with random compliance checks. Site Managers are sent a report to their PDA with any defects, and allocated priority codes provided to help ensure they are dealt with appropriately. At the same time, the Contracts Manager and Project Director are also sent a copy of the report. The former must confirm to the Health & Safety Department that problems will be resolved within 48 hours - and how they will be dealt with. In addition, the Department carefully scrutinises all inspection and accident/incident reports to compile statistics and trends. It then compares these against industry standards and reports its findings to the Board of Directors at their monthly meetings.

When working in or around occupied premises we ensure the correct procedures and signs are in place to protect employees, subcontractors and residents. We communicate HSE advice to our employees though our intranet, newsletters, H&S committee, inductions and lunchtime seminars. Full training is provided at all times to meet individual requirements.

Our employees to subcontractors are all required to measure and control the risks of their working activity. Risk assessment and management is a vital part of health & safety and accident prevention. At the Breyer Group, we ensure it is the very first thing to be considered before and during all works.
