Training and Development

Like any thriving and forward-thinking company we want to attract and retain the best. As a result we offer great opportunities for career and personal development by giving everyone access to top quality training and the chance to carve out a clear career path. There are over 500 people working for Breyer Group and we are committed to helping each and every one of them fulfil their potential.

You will be welcomed immediately into the business through our comprehensive company induction. This will cover such areas as our customer care policy, code of conduct, corporate social responsibility, equal opportunities and diversity policies as well as our resident liaison officer policies and procedures, and an onsite visit. Thereafter you are individually inducted into the business area you have chosen. You will meet your line manager and be assigned a mentor to help you through the initial stages of your employment. Agreed objectives are set in preparation for your 3 month review and 6 month assessment.

You will always feel involved in the rate of your progress. At Breyer our regular staff appraisals allow for two-way, transparent and open discussion. We inspire our staff to challenge thinking, identify barriers and contribute to the common good. Furthermore we provide training workshops to equip both employees and managers on how to improve the effectiveness of these appraisals.

Training Opportunities

You will benefit from personalised in-house training programmes that are second to none. Our commitment to Investors in People will enable you to take advantage of innovative fast-track schemes such as our Accelerated RLO customer care training programme, and other practical schemes that are tailored to suit the needs and abilities of each employee.

Graduates will be interested in our summer work placements for Quantity Surveying and Building Surveying which have allowed previous candidates to start out as trainees and assistants and have led to permanent roles within the company.

In addition we also offer staff in relevant positions fully funded training in accountancy, project management, construction and site management, customer care, and health and safety training. We also fully fund apprenticeships and NVQs in Customer Care and Business Administration (all ages) and all trades (subject to CITB eligibility criteria).

We are currently developing our Breyer Scholarship programme, an exciting new apprenticeship scheme in which we plan to streamline and build on what we currently offer by way of training and support with added performance related bonuses, benefits and awards. We will be adding details of this here soon.
